Language, Literacy, Numeracy, and Digital skills (LLND)
Prior to commencing their course, students will be required to complete a compulsory LLND test, which has been developed by the college. These tests are categorised based on the student’s qualifications and serve as a tool to help college personnel identify students who may need language and/or numeracy support. The LLND tests are designed in accordance with the Australian Core Skills Framework, providing a guideline for their development.
Language refers to the ability to understand and use spoken and written English to communicate effectively in a variety of contexts, including classroom discussions, group work, and workplace conversations.
Literacy involves reading, writing, and comprehension skills. It enables students to interpret information, follow written instructions, and express themselves clearly in writing.
Numeracy is the ability to understand and work with numbers. This includes basic arithmetic, interpreting graphs and tables, and solving real-life mathematical problems often encountered in work and daily life.
Digital skills are essential for assessing how well students are equipped with the necessary skills to navigate and use technology effectively in both educational and professional settings. It ensures students are prepared for the demands of the modern digitally driven world by offering support when needed.
